Khardung-La….Nubra Valley

Day 7
LEH

Total Rest
Got oil change and other general servicing of the bike done. Also visited The Hall of Fame….

Day 8
Leh-Nubra Valley
Total distance covered-130km

The last day we had got permit from the DC office. As the distance was short,we decided to start late till 11 or so.But we got delayed upto 1.30pm to leave for Khardung-La.We expected to cover the distance within 4-5 hours. But very surprisingly, believe it or not,we reached Ktop at 4.30.It took damn 3 hours to climb the 40 kms.My bike was puffing smoke like a truck.Still,we made it finally,THE HIGHEST MOTORABLE ROAD IN THE WORLD on a PASSION PLUS and a CD100.

I literally wanted to dance, the cold wasnt enough cool to curb my excitement.Guys,I wont forget that moment ever in my life.I wont be able to explain the happiness in words here….but it….its the same feeling you get when you actually see your dream coming true.

The Kawa you get at Ktop is the best Kawa I’ve ever had.I had a couple of them and we were off on way for Nubra at 5.30. The hide and seek of the clouds was continuously visible and beautiful indeed……

The road was in complete shadow at the sunrays could fall only on the top of mountains, thus enlightening just the tops and rest in dark. The mountains which were snow capped seemed to be crowned by the sun……
The sun had starting to settle in the horizon, atlast just lighting up the sky.
